Keep wildlife encounters observational
Do not feed, chase, handle or crowd wild animals. Choose an operator who follows site instructions and is prepared to move on rather than surround an animal for a photograph.
Ask how the visit operates
Confirm the guide, vehicle or vessel, group size, access permission and planned duration. For a marine trip, ask about approach practices and what happens in unsuitable sea conditions.
Understand protected-area access
Use the relevant managing authority for permits and current access information. A booking with a driver does not necessarily include park entry, a specialist guide or a separate activity permit.
Keep expectations realistic
Animal movement and weather can change the day. Spend time understanding habitat and behaviour rather than treating a particular species as a promised inclusion.
